Expected Salary Ranges from £35,000 to £50,000 with experience and overtime.
Qualifications Required Although formal academic qualifications are not essential, as a minimum, must hold the relevant CISRS Advanced Scaffolder certification. Must hold Relevant CISRS Systems Scaffold Training (depending upon materials used). Good communication skills (English) and an ability to understand technical drawings and understand details such as load bearings (Maths) are useful.
Role: A CISRS Advanced Scaffolder is someone who holds the established trade Advanced craft competency for the scaffolding industry, enabling them to partake in the erection, alteration and dismantle of all scaffolding operations.
They will be able to read and interpret complex design drawing. Although this does not apply to all Advanced Scaffolders, they will often be required to lead operations as a charge hand in scaffold gangs carrying out all types (Basic and Advanced) of scaffolding works.
They should be capable of supervising scaffolders, trainees and labourers who are gaining experience towards their certification and capable of setting an example to less experienced colleagues whilst ensuring that jobs are completed in a safe and timely manner.
Responsibilities:
Typical day: Can vary widely depending upon location and sectors you are working in e.g., street work, civils, engineering, power stations, offshore, events.
Key skills: Advanced Scaffolders should be physically fit, understand design drawings, have good communication skills, be punctual, organised and diligent.
